BlogCatalog the search engine optimization powerhouse

I like to blog about anything and everything provided I believe my information can bring value or benefits to my readers. If you like blogging like millions of others out there then you’ll understand when I say that it can be quite addictive. I’ve only been blogging myself for about 6 months, before I created websites for marketing purposes  and although I enjoyed it, nothing gives me as much satisfaction and pleasure as Wordpress blogging.Wordpress in my opinion is the best blogging performer.

One great feature about blogging or rather Wordpress is its incredible SEO power and features. For those that don’t know what SEO is, it’s search engine optimization, its what gives your site higher ranking when people search in Google, Yahoo, Bing and so on for certain keywords relating to what they want to find. Wordpress comes already packed with great SEO features that help your blog stand out in the crowd.

SEO features won’t help alone you if you don’t know how to market your blog and that’s when BlogCatalog comes in.
I joined Blogcatalog weeks back and I am totally blown away by its incredible power to put your blog on the first page of Google for some of your blogs keywords. My other blog http://www.time2getdown.com can now be found on Google’s first and second pages with certain keywords. Try it for yourself, put nightclubbing photos in Googles search engine or nightclub photos, or high resolution nightclub photos and see if you can find my blog. Considering that my other blog is only a few months old, I was shocked with amazement when I found myself on the first page of Google. People pay a lot of money to get their site on first page. I didn’t spend a dime.

How did I get on first page? Well, there’s are a few tricks I used which I will get into soon in another post but for now I found that a lot of times my blog appeared on first pages of Google via Blogcatalog. In other words, some of my keywords about my blog Time2getDown won’t show my blog without Blogcatalog. Blocatalog is so powerful with its SEO and huge member database that just about anyone that adds  there link to it all of a sudden becomes a power house. Its like your blog all of a sudden becomes a V8 instead of a little 2 litre 4 cylinder. In my case Blogcatalog most of the times appears on the first page of Google but your blog shows up also because it is part of it. Blogcatalog sort of drags you up to the top of the rankings with little effort because you’ve kind of become part of it’s core keyword rich engine.

Blogcatolog won’t create any miracles for you but if you know how to tweak your blog a little and you make it rich with keywords, then you join Blogcatalog, then you’ll be on the right path to high search engine rankings. On the other hand if you think that you can just get a domain name, then create a website and expect to get high rankings by just joining Blogcatalog then good luck because it ain’t gonna happen, but using a few techniques and simple tricks, you can achieve very good results.

One of the many great features about Blogcatalog is that you can create a friends list. This means that anyone who asks to be your friend or anyone you want to be friends can do so. You will then receive an email to tell you someone has added you as a friend and then you can decide if you want to return the same courtesy and add them. Or you can just ask someone to visit your site in return for visiting theirs. This gives you leverage when it comes to getting your name out there because you will show up in your friends list & them in yours. People will go in search to find good quality friends depending on the type of blog they have. You can also check who has looked at your profile and then if you want to you can add them also as friends. By adding friends you will created for yourself a very powerful network of people that just keeps growing on auto pilot which them gives your blog more exposure.

My favorite feature about Blogcatalog is that you can also broadcast a topic for discussion, in other words you can ask a question or give an opinion and then the message is shout casted to thousands of other members who can respond if they wish. This gives you the opportunity to fine tune what people are interested in and therefore allows you to create topics of interests for your blog topics.

Overall if you have a blog, you won’t be disappointed if you join. Not only will you meet new friends but your name and your blog can get a lot of exposure quite easily. Give them ago, its totally free to join.
