Progressive Metal Music isn’t loud screaming Heavy Metal, its music that combines different styles of music like for example Classical, Jazz, Opera and so on. Progressive Metal music is stylish compared to your hardcore Metal bands because its more symphonic rather that just loud aggressive music.

Therion is just one of those groups that completely turn the rules upside down when it comes to music. Seriously their music is like no other. Every album has something unique and great. Now your either gonna be shocked by their music or your gonna love it.
Therion does come across as Gothic and perhaps evil sounding but if you are superstitious then your just going to miss out on some really great stuff. You see, I’m not superstitious, therefore I listen to their music and enjoy it because its different and sounds really good. On the other hand its the kind of music that if played loud in your car while stopped at a set of traffic lights then people will surely think you’ve gone insane.

Therion is great, most of their music is based on mythical and historical characters. In reality there is nothing evil about their music at all, its just based on pure myth. Take into account that Therion are great entertainers and have a lot of charisma, its the reason why their music sells out usually the very first day whenever their albums are released. Might be that you think, “well if they’re so famous, how come I haven’t heard of them’. Reason why is because Therion music does not appeal to the common masses, considering that their music is based on mainly progressive metal music combined with classical and opera, its quite obvious that the local radio stations won’t take the risk by playing their music.

I suppose I’m a sucker for eccentrics to some degree and I’ve always liked things that are different and unique, suppose its why Therion appeals to me and many others alike.

Tiamat gave Kingu the 3 Tablets of Destiny, which he wore as a breastplate and which gave him great power. She placed him as the general of her army. Eventually, he was killed by the god Marduk to prevent his rise and his blood was used to create humankind. With his death, Marduk took the Tablets of Destiny and became ruler of the gods. Kingu’s pivotal role is further described in the Babylonian creation myth, Enûma Elish[1].

In Ariel’s moment of weakness, Mephisto’s hold on the alchemist’s will is at its highest point. He finds Marguerite, a beautiful girl in the Town. She looks and sounds like Helena. In an attempt to console Ariel, Mephisto delivers her to him, paving the way for her seduction. His control and power over Ariel are represented musically by harsh bass lines and death grunts. He convinces Ariel to follow through with this course of action. Thus, as Ariel seduces Marguerite’s body, Mephisto seduces Ariel’s mind.

The Black Halo is the seventh full-length album produced by metal band Kamelot. It was released on March 15, 2005, through Steamhammer Records. It is a concept album loosely based on Goethe’s Faust. Continuing the story introduced in Epica, it is the second and final record in Kamelot’s two-part concept about Ariel. It features guest appearances by Simone Simons (Epica), Shagrath (Dimmu Borgir), Jens Johansson (Stratovarius), and several others. The album was released on vinyl in the spring of 2009, along with Ghost Opera^[1][2][3].

The band’s debut album, Wounded Land, was released in 1993, taking its name and some thematic elements from Stephen R. Donaldson’s novel of the same name. Wilson was unavailable to join the band for the followup tour, and so Glynn Morgan was recruited to replace him. Delain was founded by Martijn Westerholt, the ex-keyboardist and brother of one the founders of Within Temptation, Robert Westerholt. He left Within Temptation in 2001 when he suffered from Pfeiffer’s disease. He started Delain in 2002. The band started recording the debut album in July 2005, after they had signed a contract with Roadrunner Records.

The band consists of Martijn Westerholt (keyboard) and Charlotte Wessels (vocals). Furthermore, the live band consists of Rob van der Loo (bass), Ewout Pieters (guitar) and Sander Zoer (drums).

“Bye Bye Beautiful” is the second track on Finnish quintet Nightwish’s Dark Passion Play album. The song was confirmed to be the third single from Dark Passion Play by Tuomas Holopainen in an interview^[2], but it was changed to the fourth single from the album after the announcement of Erämaan Viimeinen’s release as the third.

The single was released on February 15, 2008 in three versions, CD, DVD and 12 inch. It includes an DJ Orkidea Remix Version of the song as well as a demo version of “The Poet and the Pendulum” and Dark Passion Play’s Japanese bonus track “Escapist”.

The vocals are shared between the band’s two vocalists, Anette Olzon and Marco Hietala. He performs the chorus and the bridge. In the studio version of the chorus he sings “Did you ever let in what the world said” and “Did we play to become only pawns in the game?”, but in live sessions he sings “Oh, let in what the world said” and “Did we play – only pawns in the game?” respectively, adding pauses, probably for breathing in.^[3]

In the first part of the Dark Passion Play tour, “Bye Bye Beautiful” was the standard opening track, which was played after an intro of “Resurrection” from the soundtrack of The Passion of the Christ.^[3] In 2009 it was replaced by “7 Days to the Wolves” and Tuomas Holopainen stated that the band is never going to play “Bye Bye Beautiful” live again. ^[4]

A promo version of the track was leaked to the Internet on July 11, 2007.
